The IGNITE® student profile extends beyond the typical willPower client. The IGNITE client demographic includes more athletes and men. Our client is the indoor-cyclist, the cross-fitter wanna-be (or was…), the lady from the treadmill who needs something new. Our client thrives in repetition – but expects change. Our client craves measurement and goal setting, and loves the instant gratification of a meeting short-term goal.
Organization in your pre-class is critical, as it demonstrates the discipline that will be expected during the workout.
Each client should have a mat that is organized parallel to the front mirror. If they arrive prior to class, they should sit on the mat and do the self-massage sequence from Sole Training®.
Place the waterbottle in one corner of the mat and small workout towel in another corner.
Upbeat music should be playing. Preferably a song without lyrics so that you can introduce your class and make everyone feel comfortable. Practice your intro!
INTRO TO IGNITE:
My name is XXXX and I’m your coach today. Welcome to wilPower IGNITE®. This is a drill-based class that’s broken up into 7 sections.
Section One is your warmup – it will last about 5 minutes.
After that, you’ll have six, 6-minute sections that we call Tabathas. 4 minutes of hard work, followed by 2 minutes of stretch and recovery. Within the 4 minutes of hard work, you’ll have 8 rounds of the same exercise: In each of your 8 rounds, you’ll push hard for 20 seconds and then rest for 10 seconds.
So – basically – you have plenty of rest coming. This means when it’s time to work, you’ve got to give it everything you’ve got. The goal is local muscle fatigue, or in some cases, anaerobic.
We’ll all begin with a basic version of the exercise: Level 1. I’ll also teach more advanced levels – and you’ll get to choose which level is best for you.
The first few rounds are what we call your DISCOVERY SET. This is when you figure the exercise out on your body. Explore it, and determine the best level for you to be working at.
After your DISCOVERY SET, it’s time to really push yourself. By the end of the set, you should have given it you all!
Ok – let’s get you warmed up!
