What is the value of a vision, a conception, a notion? What does it mean to look beyond your current state of affairs, and imagine an elevated reality, an alternative solution?

For visions come not to polluted eyes. Mary Howitt

When we allow our minds to wander beyond our “9-5” status quo, when we entertain thoughts that others cannot understand, when we become a visionary in our own right, we give ourselves the power to create a change. Becoming a visionary in the public eye is not an easy task; as fear of failure dominates our world. Skepticism, and defensive spirits sometimes hinder the creative process.

Every creator painfully experiences the chasm between his inner vision and its ultimate expression. Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904 – 1991)

We’ve lost one of the most creative visionaries ever known in the history of music. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, envisioned his “last curtain call” – his final tour, to be the most exciting musical event that anyone has ever seen. The tour was to be called “This Is It.”

Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such. Henry Miller (1891 – 1980)

Michael was determined to make a comeback – and prove to the world, once and for all that his talent and vision should surpass all of the negativity which surrounded his character over the most recent years. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Michael’s dress rehearsal the day before his death stunned all those who watched. Michael had found his way back to the top.

I urge you all, to have a vision of the person you want to be! Olympian heroes would not be, without tenacious belief in their own passion, physical strength and mental focus.

Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your Vision is the promise of what you shall one day be. Your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil. James Allen

Philosophy In Action

Develop a clear vision for your most ideal life, by creating a "Vision Board". Cut out pictures of material things you wish to own, places you'd like to be, words that represent how you want to feel - capture emotions in photos.  Then meditate on the exact life that you want. Imagine every detail. Consistency with this practice will bring you closer to your goals.

Color Your World

It is easy to smile when you wear or surround yourself with Sun Orange. This color will lift your mood and allow you to see the brighter side of life.

Chakra Therapy

The chakra this month is the sacral or 2nd chakra. The sanskrit name for this chakra is Svadhisthana. Svadha means to "sweeten". When this chakra is balanced you will be able to find pleasure in your life.

Thanks for sharing this Jen! Lea and I saw dozens of dragonflies on a hike this week, and she was so in awe of their big eyes. We all should be!

Found something cool during the week of vision: did you know this about dragonfly’s?

    The opening of one’s eyes:

The eyes of the dragonfly are one of the most amazing and awe inspiring sights. Given almost 80% of the insect’s brain power is dedicated to its sight and the fact that it can see in all 360 degrees around it, it symbolizes the uninhibited vision of the mind and the ability to see beyond the limitations of the human self. It also in a manner of speaking symbolizes a man/woman’s rising from materialism to be able to see beyond the mundane into the vastness that is really our Universe, and our own minds.
